Established in 2012, our ethos has always been to make the outdoors accessible for all.  Our Bushcraft experiences are designed to increase your understanding of the natural environment and wildlife by teaching and honing the traditional skills of our ancestors, which have supported our race for millennia, yet are unknown to many people today.

Polaris Wilderness Adventure Ltd, (Polaris Bushcraft) was established in 2012 by Graham Couling to share his knowledge and passion for the outdoors, nature and wildlife, and to increase understanding of the traditional skills of our ancestors, which have supported our race for millennia, yet are unknown to many people today.

We teach both modern survival and traditional living skills to provide a truly rewarding experience, from both day workshops and longer courses, which inevitably enrich our understanding and connection with the natural world and our own past.

Based deep in an ancient woodland in Bayford, Hertfordshire, our private 40 acre camp is directly accessible by rail and road - with no public footpaths, gated entry and secure car parking.

A member of the Institute of Outdoor Learning, we are committed to delivering professional Bushcraft sessions for schools, home schooling and youth organisations as well as corporate team building days.

"Excellent weekend! Graham was extremely knowledgeable and always happy to guide us less experienced campers. The kids, aged 6 and 7 had a great time building a shelter, building and starting fires, and learning about the forest. Not once did the kids claim to be bored or ask for any electronic / WiFi-enabled devices at any point over the weekend.
The other campers were friendly and it was great to share their previous camping experiences. The kids also got on very well and entertained themselves with their new company and surroundings.
I would highly recommend this course and have done so already"
