WINTER TREE ID DAY OVERVIEW

Learn the key features you can use to identify trees when not in leaf, such as bark patterns in both juvenile and mature forms, growth habit, crown shape, bud shape, spacing and arrangement, catkins, fungal growth and more.

This knowledge will save you time and effort by enabling you to quickly identify the best resources as well as keeping you safe from accidentally using potentially toxic timbers for fire or cooking.

Being able to identify dead wood from the bark for example is far more useful in selecting firewood than recognising species from their foliage.

PAST EXPERIENCES

"Being in the beautiful woodland seeing the specimens of trees beats any text book or app!! The pre & post text of knowledge is teatime to the teaching method as Graham’s knowledge is vast & always interesting.

The camp fire is a great place to meet, greet & get your know other like minded people.

Looking forward to my 4th visit in the Autumn!"
