ACCREDITED BUSHCRAFT TRAINING COURSES  

Education settings are increasingly recognising the benefits of outdoor learning for child development, and the importance of facilitating and developing a connection and relationship with the natural environment.
Nationally accredited bushcraft qualifications allow teachers and instructors to have their skill level and expertise formally assessed and recognised.

IOL BUSHCRAFT COMPETENCY TRAINING & ASSESSMENT

The Institute for Outdoor Learning is the professional body for individuals and organisations using activities and experiences in the outdoors for learning, increased health and wellbeing and environmental awareness. 


Designed for instructors, leaders and teachers in outdoor education or activity centres, the IOL Bushcraft Competency training and assessment scheme provides a Level 3 qualification pathway.  
Nationally accredited, the IOL Bushcraft Competency Award, Certificate and Diploma is a progressive programme of training and assessment for good practice, safety and competence over the range of bushcraft skills.


As an IOL Accredited Bushcraft Competency Course Provider, you can book your bushcraft competency training course direct with us, or via the IOL website.

IOL BUSHCRAFT QUALIFICATIONS

Delivered in accordance with the IOL Bushcraft Competency Statement of Good Practice, the basic unit requirements at each level of bushcraft qualification are:


L3 Bushcraft Competency Award (for instructors - 5 units)
2 day training course, 60 hours consolidation period and logbook, ½ day assessment course.


L3 Bushcraft Competency Certificate (for teachers and instructors - 8 units)
3 day training course, 120 hours consolidation period and logbook, 1 day assessment course.


L3 Bushcraft Competency Diploma (for teachers and instructors - 16 units).


L2 Bushcraft Skills Award (for pupils and other learners)
11 Units covered in 80 guided learning hours that can fit in a school term or spread over one year.
