
IOL BUSHCRAFT COMPETENCY CERTIFICATE
Open to all with an interest in bushcraft, though some experience in bushcraft is recommended.
Achieving the IOL Accredited Level 3 Bushcraft Competency Certificate demonstrates you follow good practice and have a high level of safety and competency in eight bushcraft units.

OVERVIEW
A three day course running from 09:30 Friday morning to Sunday 4pm.

Suitable for outdoor learning teachers or instructors who plan and deliver progressive bushcraft learning experiences in their setting.

Covers 8 units from the Institute for Outdoor Learning Bushcraft Competency Statement of Good Practice, syllabus:
o Bow drill
o Water
o Debris shelters
o Edged tools (knives & saws)
o Fire
o Tree identification
o Natural navigation
o Cordage

A high quality training course, consolidated experience, assessment of bushcraft competence and certification by IOL Awards Centre.

3 day training course (24 guided learning hours).
Assessment for the Bushcraft Competency Certificate (BCC) requires a completed Bushcraft Competency Logbook demonstrating 120 quality hours of consolidated bushcraft experience.

A digital logbook of the candidates required experience is preferred. Supporting evidence should include a mix of guided learning, self-learning, reflective practice, instructing/teaching, mentoring, etc.

An additional one day assessment course is also required, booked through the IOL.
