L3 BUSHCRAFT COMPETENCY AWARD
Open to all with an interest in passing bushcraft skills and knowledge on to others. Achieving the Bushcraft Competency Award demonstrates you follow good practice and have a high level of safety and competency in five bushcraft units.

Designed for the outdoor learning workforce delivering bushcraft skills sessions including FE/HE students, apprentices, instructors, teachers, leaders, etc.

Covers 5 units from the IOL Bushcraft Competency Statement of Good Practice, syllabus
o Edged tools (knives & saws)
o Fire
o Water
o Tarp shelters & knots
o Campfire cooking

A high quality training course, consolidated experience, assessment of bushcraft competence and certification by IOL Awards Centre.

2 day training course (16 guided learning hours)
Assessment for the Bushcraft Competency Award (BCA) requires a completed Bushcraft Competency Logbook demonstrating 60 quality hours of consolidated bushcraft experience.
A digital logbook of the candidates required experience is preferred. Supporting evidence should include a mix of guided learning, self-learning, reflective practice, instructing/teaching, mentoring, etc.
An additional ½ day assessment course is also required.
