Discover and practise essential survival skills with your family.....

Our friendly instructors will show you and your family how to provide for your immediate needs and to exist in harmony with your surroundings. You’ll get lots of practical experience with with hands on fire lighting and the opportunity to build a natural shelter within a beautiful mixed broadleaf and coniferous woodland. You will be shown how to source drinking water and how to make it safe, as well as learning about the plants trees and animals around you as you gather materials for your fire and shelter.

Taught in the relaxed environment of an expedition-style camp with tea and coffee on hand throughout the day, you can ask plenty of questions and receive tips from our experts. The day runs from 1000-1630 with a lunch break. Please bring a packed lunch and suitable outdoor clothing.

Content varies according to season and available resources but includes:


  • Fire lighting from spark
  • Selection of tinder, kindling and main fuel
  • Fire management
  • Natural Shelter
  • Water Sourcing, filtration and purification methods.
  • Animal Tracks and signs
